Merge and combine clips into one seamless video

The Video Merger API will merge several clips into a single video — normalizing resolution, frame rate and orientation automatically — so you can combine video into compilations and add intros and outros through one call instead of an editing timeline.

It is an online video merger for automated assembly: montages generated from a user’s uploads, ad variants built from a library of scenes, course modules bookended with branded intros, and any workflow that programmatically joins many sources into one deliverable.

How will merging work?

  1. Provide an ordered list of clip URLs (or uploads).
  2. The API normalizes resolution, frame rate and orientation across all clips.
  3. Optionally set transitions, an intro and an outro, and a target aspect ratio.
  4. Audio levels are normalized; download the single merged file.

What it won’t do: Merge joins clips end-to-end — it is not a full editor. It won’t do multi-track overlays, picture-in-picture, or complex timelines. For simple concatenation with clean transitions, it’s the right tool.

What is the Video Merger API?
It will merge and combine multiple video clips into a single continuous video in the order you specify — for compilations, intros/outros and stitched sequences. It is not live yet; this page describes the planned endpoint.
Do the clips need the same resolution or frame rate to merge?
No — automatic normalization is planned: the video merger aligns resolution, frame rate and orientation so mismatched clips combine into one clean, consistent output.
Can I add transitions when I merge video?
Simple cut (default) and crossfade transitions between clips are planned, plus optional intro and outro slots so you can bookend the sequence.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can combine?
A generous per-request clip count is planned for typical compilations; very large jobs will run asynchronously. Exact limits will be published with the endpoint.
What about the audio from each clip?
Each clip’s audio is carried through and joined in sequence by default, with an option to normalize levels so one loud clip doesn’t dominate the merged track.
Can I combine portrait and landscape clips?
Yes — normalization handles orientation, letterboxing or reframing mismatched clips to a target aspect ratio you set for the final merged video.
