What it does

What does a JPG to GIF converter do?

A JPG to GIF converter turns a JPG photo into a GIF. Give it one JPG and you get a single-frame GIF; give it a set of JPGs and it stacks them into one animated GIF that loops. A JPG is a single full-colour still with efficient compression; a GIF is a looping image capped at 256 colours per frame. The Pixazo JPG to GIF converter reads your photos and encodes them into a GIF that plays anywhere.

It does not add motion that was not there — a single photo stays still, and several photos become the frames of the loop, in the order you give them.

Two inputs, one format

One photo or a whole set — both go in the same place, and Pixazo picks static or animated for you based on how many you add.

Two ways
One file

Single JPG → static GIF

Add one JPG and Pixazo writes a single-frame GIF. The same picture in GIF form — useful when a platform accepts a GIF but not a JPG.

Many files

Multiple JPGs → animated GIF

Add several JPGs and Pixazo lines them up as frames and loops them into one animated GIF. Set how long each frame holds to control the speed.

Colour drops to 256 per frame

A JPG holds millions of colours; a GIF frame holds only 256. Smooth gradients and skin tones can band once mapped to the smaller palette.

A GIF is bigger than the JPG

GIF compression is poor for photos, so a single-frame GIF is usually larger than the JPG it came from. You trade size for the GIF format and its loop.

It loops forever

The loop is written into the GIF at conversion time and repeats endlessly. This tool does not expose a repeat-count control.

Order and timing are the controls

Frame order and how long each frame holds are what you set — there is no easing or transition between frames, just one still after another.

How to
1

Open Agent P

Open Agent P in the Pixazo playground and sign in. It is free on the Lite mode, with nothing to install.

2

Attach your JPGs

Add one JPG for a static GIF, or a set in the order you want them to play. You can also type @ to use uploaded files.

3

Ask for a GIF

Tell Agent P to convert your photos to a GIF. For an animation, say how long each frame should hold.

4

Download the GIF

Agent P cuts the colours to 256, encodes the GIF, and drops it in the Assets panel — free, no watermark.

Where it fits

When should you convert JPG to GIF?

Reach for JPG to GIF when a platform or chat wants a GIF, when you want a simple looping animation from a burst of photos, or when a single still needs to travel as a GIF. It is not the format for a high-quality photo — for that, keep the JPG. If you want motion in a small, smooth file instead of a heavy GIF, convert your frames to MP4 after.

FAQ

Can I make an animated GIF from several JPGs?

Yes. Add your JPGs in the order you want them to play, set how long each frame holds, and Pixazo stacks them into one looping animated GIF.

What happens if I add just one JPG?

You get a single-frame, static GIF — the same picture in GIF form. It is useful when a platform accepts GIFs but not JPGs.

Will the colours change?

A GIF frame holds only 256 colours, so a full-colour JPG is mapped to a smaller palette. Photos with smooth gradients or skin tones can band slightly.

Is the GIF bigger than the JPG?

Usually, yes. GIF compression is poor for photographs, so even a single-frame GIF tends to be larger than the JPG it came from.

Can I set how fast the animation plays?

Yes. You set how long each frame stays on screen. A short hold looks fast, a long hold looks slow. There are no transitions between frames.

Does the GIF loop forever?

Yes. The loop is written into the GIF at conversion time and repeats endlessly. There is no repeat-count control in this tool.

Is the JPG to GIF converter free?

Yes. It runs free on the Lite mode in the Pixazo playground. You sign in once with a free account, and there is no watermark on the result.

Can I convert JPG to GIF on my phone?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser, so it works the same on a phone, tablet, or laptop with nothing to install.
